About Kevin Petracek

Kevin Petracek works with affluent clients to help them better understand, structure and administer their estate planning. Mr. Petracek’s practice focuses on wealth transfer and preservation strategies encompassing estate tax, income tax, charitable and non-tax planning issues. He also assists closely-held business owners in analyzing business succession strategies. Mr. Petracek has conducted numerous educational workshops for clients, CPAs, attorneys and financial consultants.

Experience

Mr. Petracek brings to Parman & Easterday over twenty years of experience in the estate planning and tax arenas, having started in the Tax Department of KPMG’s Houston office, before moving on to practice law in Los Angeles, and later in Kansas City. He also served as General Counsel for a Kansas City company, with responsibility for a broad range of corporate legal issues/transactions, then joined A.G. Edwards (now known as Wells Fargo Advisors), most recently serving as its Regional Wealth Consultant for eight Midwestern states (Kansas, Missouri, Oklahoma, Nebraska, Iowa, Minnesota, South Dakota and North Dakota). In that role, Mr. Petracek provided estate planning, business succession planning, financial planning and tax guidance to thousands of high net worth clients.

Education

Mr. Petracek passed the CPA exam before he graduated with honors from the University of Notre Dame with a degree in Accounting. He then earned his Juris Doctor at the University of Kansas, and received a Master of Laws in Taxation from Southern Methodist University. Mr. Petracek also passed the bar exams of California, Texas, Missouri and Kansas, each at his first sitting. He holds the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ certification.

Personal

Mr. Petracek, a resident of the Kansas City metropolitan area, is married with two children. He is an alum of the Centurion Leadership Program of the Greater Kansas City Chamber of Commerce, and a past President of both Camps for Kids and the Notre Dame Club of Kansas City. He also served as Chairman of the Gift Planning Committee for the St. Lawrence Center at the University of Kansas, and was a Big Brother in the Big Brothers-Big Sisters organization.
